The Heritage Association of Trades  is a group of traditional heritage tradesmen and women of America working together to provide a focus group for tradespeople, living history museums, reenactment groups and individuals who have an interest in true American traditional trades including the raw materials, tools, history of  American trades, the lifestyles and the phylosophy of those earlier tradespeople and years of hands-on experience in said trades.  To keep the past alive and to pass on the skills and knowledge to future generations.

We focus on Trades rather than Crafts. Trades were employment. Years of apprenticeship and practice allowed individuals to become expert in an occupation which was needed by the general public for use in the survival of the tradesmen and the customers who bought their products. Tradesmen sold from their establishments, at local shops and off pedders wagons. Customers bought neccessary goods for everyday use.

Our aim is to encourage people interested in our trades to learn more about the materials, tools, people and the lifestyle of a craftspeople  To realize and acknowlege the difference between mass produced products and the individual uniqueness of a hand-made item, the thought, the research, the heart and soul of the tradespeople that go into their work.  So much so, that others will support us by purchasing fine items and that stories are told and passed down and treasured by all who see and touch a true hand-made item.
