"I am a self created artsy person and
I must admit somewhat eclectic.. [I've evolved mostly to working with fiber from] raising sheep for over 40 years and
having llamas for almost 20. I am a handweaver of fiber, baskets and beads."
"I grew up in the era of ‘make do’, as kids we created our own entertainment … I was intrigued
and loved needlework, sewing and all the little tools… (I love tools!) I really don’t know when I started
bead work, but I remember pieces I wove as a kid... We had very little money so if I saw something I really really
wanted I just needed to figure how to make it myself... Knitting, Sewing, loved making
things from wood, painting..."
"Most of my experience is self taught or eventually from some classes and workshops
and having great friends with the same interests... we‘ve learned from each other... (love my weaving buddies!) Probably one of the greatest sources
of my learning has come from teaching and giving workshops. My very favorite is watching new beginners eyes light up
with their new found experience."
"All my equipment and looms are old, well worn and very used, many
with bumps and bruises of a working life but still perform faithfully, together we weave spun yarns and recycle fabric into
something new."
